Bjorn Dahl is president of DES. Bjorn has over 55 years of experience in forestry and is a treasured veteran of the U.S. Forest Service. Bjorn is an immigrant from Norway where he graduated from the University of Minnesota Forestry Program. Bjorn has worked all over the United States managing and pioneering our nation's forests and grasslands. His roles as District Ranger, Forester Supervisor, Regional Director, and National Director have helped him play an integral part in protecting U.S. National Forests. Bjorn also has extensive wildfire experience in his capacity as Incident Management, Area Command Staff and Incident Commander.

Adminstrator, Accounting
Martha Dahl is wife to Bjorn Dahl and has been a critical supporting role to Bjorn throughout their lifetime and his career as a forester. Martha grew up on a family cattle ranch which has been in operation since the 1916 Homestead Act. She pursued a career working as an ER Nurse for 40 years. After retiring, Martha brings a wealth of knowledge about ranch life and rangeland management. She works as an administrator for DES.

Geographic Information Manager, Business Development
Kris Dahl is son to Bjorn Dahl and has been an instrumental part of DES. Kris specializes in managing GIS data and develops maps, soils data, and wildfire risk assessments for DES's forest management projects. Kris has a business and finance degree from the University of Minnesota and has helped build DES with his background in business development and startups from other companies.

Forester, Certified Silviculturist, and GIS Professional (GISP)
Finn is the son of Bjorn Dahl and has been a significant team member since the company's early beginning in 2003. He has been in the Natural Resources and GIS Industry since 1996. Finn's experience includes over 12 years of experience with Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), mostly as a Solutions Engineer on their Natural Resources Team; nearly 6 years with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria as a technical lead in their Satellite Imagery Analysis Division; and over 9 years as a GIS Developer for the Department of State (DOS) through a cooperative agreement between the University of Colorado and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Finn has a B.S. in Geography/GIS from Appalachian State University, a Master's in Natural Resources/Forest Sciences from Colorado State University (CSU), and an Advanced Certification in Silviculture from CSU.

Associate Forester, SAF, ACF, Forestry Graduate Student
Austin Dahl is the grandson of Bjorn Dahl and is currently a master's student at the Colorado State University of Fort Collins. He studies Natural Resources: Forest Sciences in order to learn how to improve the health of our nation's forests. Additionally, he has worked as a firefighter on the West Coast as a part of a Type 2 Hand Crew.

Forestry Technician
Arissen is the grandson of Bjorn Dahl and helps with forest cruising and fire mitigation work. He will soon begin college at Montana State University while also serving with the Montana Army National Guard.
